Lion-O thanked her for her help, hoping he would one day return the favor, and left for an important event. She called him "different" because of his actions. Lion-O took her to a shop that sells artifacts of so-called technology. She also wondered what the prince was doing in the slums. ![]() She once followed him into the slums and ended a fight he had with a bunch of alley cats because he defended a dog. From time to time, Cheetara would grow concerned for the safety of Thundera and was assigned by Jaga to keep an eye on Prince Lion-O (Tygra's adoptive brother and Claudus's biological son). She even kept the heart of the flower Tygra gave her as a child, hoping one day she would see him again. With her training complete, she became a full Cleric and looked up to Jaga as a father figure. Over the years, Cheetara would grow into a beautiful young woman. After many days of sitting in front of the doors and feeding off the petals of the Day Astrid, she collapsed from lack of nourishment, convincing Jaga that she did indeed have patience, finally taking her in to start her training. Cheetara is touched by this and falls in love with him in return. Tygra, having fallen in love with her and watching her all this time, gives her a flower called the Day Astrid (each petal is said to have a day of life within). Cheetara swore she wouldn't leave the front door of the temple until she was given another chance. After failing the initiation test by Jaga, she was cast out because she seemingly had no patience. ![]() When she asked Tygra where she could find the Clerics, he led her to them and wished her luck. That was when she first met Tygra, a prince of Thundera and adopted son of Claudus (the current king at the time), who was a guard in his youth and blushed the first time he saw her. It is unknown where she lived at the time, but during her childhood, she came to Thundera to join the Clerics. The intrusion of these two alien races upon the world does not go unnoticed, however - the demonic, mummified sorcerer, Mumm-Ra, recruits the Mutants to aid him in his campaign to acquire the Eye of Thundera and destroy the ThunderCats so that his evil might continue to hold sway over Third Earth.Little has been revealed of Cheetara's past, except for the fact that she was an orphan as a child. Together, the ThunderCats and the friendly natives of Third Earth construct the "Cat's Lair," their new home and headquarters, but before long, the Mutants have tracked them down to Third Earth. When the ThunderCats awake from their suspended animation on Third Earth, Lion-O discovers that his suspension capsule has failed to inhibit his aging, and he is now a child in the body of a man. The flagship contains the young Lord of the ThunderCats, Lion-O, as well as the ThunderCats Cheetara, Panthro, Tygra, WilyKit and WilyKat, and Snarf. Though the Mutants damage the flagship, the power of the Eye drives them back, and Lion-O's elderly guardian, Jaga, pilots the ship to the safety of the world of "Third Earth" however, he dies in the process, as there are insufficient cryo-stasis pods aboard the ship, and the journey to Third Earth takes several decades even with advanced interstellar spacecraft. ![]() The sword holds the mystical Eye of Thundera, the source of the ThunderCats's power, embedded in the hilt. The fleet is attacked by the Thundereans's enemies, the Mutants of Plun-Darr, who destroy all the starships in the "ThunderFleet," but spare the flagship hoping to capture the legendary Sword of Omens they believe is onboard. The series pilot begins with the dying Thundera meeting its end, forcing the ThunderCats (a sort of Thunderean nobility) to flee their homeworld. ThunderCats follows the adventures of the eponymous team of heroes, cat-like humanoid aliens from the planet of Thundera. ![]()
